This month, our Pump-Kin Patch team let us in on some of the exciting “Kids’ Zone” activities that were happening.
Watching baby goose hatching
- Room 6 (Preschool) children have been observing baby geese hatching. They have grown close to this mother goose and her goslings during their daily outdoor play. Teagan asks before they go outside, “Are we going to go see the baby geese?”
- They’ve taken this real-life experience and incorporated their understanding of “geese” and “hatching” into dramatic play and art.
The kids have continued with plantings and creating art depicting the “letter of the week.
Meanwhile, at Bright Lights, the children made a very artistic statement by hanging a shower curtain from the monkey bars in the playground and turning it into an abstract painting as good as any we’ve seen in galleries!
