Our Board Of Directors


Churchill Park (CHP) Family Care Society has a dedicated and talented volunteer Board of Directors sharing a common vision and goal for CHP – to create a place like no other – a place where childcare providers partner with families and the larger community to ensure children are better ready for life. The following are your Board of Directors for 2016/2017:

Logan Popko – Chair

Logan is a Professional Engineer who is passionate about Energy development and improving our communities where we live, work and play.  Logan has held various leadership roles with Cenovus Energy in Production, Reservoir, Asset Development and Downstream Corporate Planning.  In addition, Logan also serves as the Corporate Secretary for Cenovus’s Safety, Environment and Responsibility Board Committee.   Through these roles Logan has developed a breath of knowledge in project management, business development, capital governance, organizational development and he is excited to contribute his skillset to the children and families that Kids @ Churchill Park serves.


Susan Nicoll – Director

Susan is the newest addition to the Board of Directors. She joined the Board in May of 2016. She holds a diploma and a degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in a variety of roles with children throughout her career, including 8 years with Churchill Park. She currently works part-time for Calgary 9-1-1 and moderates accreditation reports for AELCS. Susan lives in the NW with her husband and 2 sons. Her chocolate lab keeps her active and she enjoys training karate with her family and watching her sons play hockey.


Brent Douziech – Director

Brent is a highly accomplished Senior Executive, Consultant, and Board Member with over 27 years of cross-industry successes.  Leveraging extensive experience in people first leadership, organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning, he has proven an asset in both matrixes and cross-functional environments.  His experience and acumen in corporate strategy, organizational structure, scaling and growth have created sustainable value for the organizations he as been a part of.   His broad areas of expertise include executive and management; strategy, operations, organizational development; capital governance and management; supply chain management;  program/project management; sales and marketing; process improvement; mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and integration.

Brent is passionate about giving back to the community where he has lived for 50-years.  The programs at Churchill Park are in support of the vision; igniting children’s potential.  He supports that vision, board, educators, and families at Churchill Park in reaching the goal of curious minds, healthy bodies, and happy hearts.


Will Fong – Director 

Will is a Partner at MNP LLP where he combines his passion for advancing important social and community development issues, with his management consulting expertise.  Throughout his career at MNP, Will has worked tirelessly with community organizations, indigenous organizations, First Nations and various government agencies to improve the quality of care within child and family services, public health, and education.

Will and his wife are proud to have a connection with Churchill Park, and will always be so grateful for the wonderful care and education their daughter received while at Baby Works and Pump-kin Patch.   Now he’s excited to be able to give back to this wonderful organization to help ensure it continues to offer superior care to our youngest citizens.


Dionne Hirtle – Vice Chairperson

Dionne Hirtle is a Governance Secretary with Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), an alliance of the largest oil sands producers focused on accelerating the pace of improvement in environmental performance in Canada’s oil sands through collaborative action and innovation.

Her responsibilities include developing and leading a range of strategic cross-organization projects and facilitating COSIA’s relationships with key stakeholders.  She also plays a key role in providing service and advice to the Shareholders, Board and executive/senior management, ensuring a positive working relationship for both groups and compliance with COSIA’s governance framework. Before joining COSIA in 2015, Dionne served as Corporate Secretary for ENMAX Power and held various governance positions with a large North American energy producer and a major Canadian energy company.

Dionne is passionate about her role in early childhood development and shares in the Churchill Park vision to create a place like no other where childcare providers partner with families to ensure children are ready for life.


Matthew Peterson – Treasurer

Matthew runs True North Accounting which specializes in bookkeeping, accounting and taxes for small business owners. Matt is honored to sit as Treasurer of the Board and finds the monthly board meetings energizing as they bring together so many knowledgeable and engaged people to debate strategy and make decisions.


Anny Quon

Anny Quon is a CA,CPA. Anny is currently working as a Coordinator of Energy Accounting for TransCanada Corporation, one of the North America’s leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries.  Anny is also a Board of Governor Bow Valley College.  Anny enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.


Kirsty Sklar – Secretary

Kirsty is a partner with Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP where she practices corporate and securities law with a focus on corporate financings and mergers and acquisitions. She also regularly assists clients with corporate governance matters.  Kirsty and her family are forever grateful to Churchill Park and their incredible caregivers for the tremendous quality of care and education her daughter and son received at Baby Works.  She is thrilled to be able to give back to Churchill Park to ensure they continue to ignite children’s potential and raise curious kids across Calgary.
