CEO Agency Updates
Dear Kids@ Families,
Welcome to one of our favourite months of the year! The month of giving, sharing and bringing joy to others; the month many of us celebrate Christmas! As always, we know many wonderful activities and much learning and growing has occurred in our centres, before and after school care programs and our Family Day Homes over the past month! We’re so proud of our outstanding and devoted team nurturing healthy bodies, curious minds and happy hearts each day!
We’re including a “giving back” highlight from the past month and couple of ‘news’ items in our newsletter this month:
- INN FROM THE COLD
Many thanks and hugs go out to our BabyWorks team and families for collecting clothing and donations for Inn from the Cold. As always, the generosity and care for others we extend is always on behalf of our larger group of families with children attending Kids@ programs! Inn from the Cold continues to receive new families on a regular basis and they do their best to support each unique family through their journey. The support would not be possible without the generosity of our community of givers! We truly appreciate your support and commitment to community!
- NEW CENTRE ANNOUNCEMENT
Kids@ is very excited to announce that we’ll be adding a new centre in 2020. The new Centre will be located in the Kahanoff Centre at 105 12th Avenue SE Suite 200. This is made possible, thanks kindly to the generous support from the Kahanoff Centre for Charitable Activities and The Calgary Foundation! Our timeline will see an opening sometime in the Spring of 2020, with the waitlist opening up on our web-site in late December. The new Kids@ Churchill Park – Kahanoff Centre Child Care is set to accommodate over 80 children and we are proud to announce that we have been able to recycle many of the items (structural design and furniture) from our Discover Y center to build out the new space. We are looking forward to accommodating some of our current waitlist families and serving families who work in the charitable sector as well as the general community! We’ll keep our families informed as the build progresses!
We’re continuing to run the Deal Deck fundraiser into December. If you haven’t already, please inquire with your program. The tin which contains a deck of 52 usable playing cards, providing a discount for a specific service or product through August 2020 and reusable multiple times makes a wonderful Christmas gift and supports our programs!
