Demand Accountability on the Creation of Child Care Spaces: The federal government committed $25.9 million to Alberta’s provincial government to create much needed child care spaces. Where has the money gone? Call your MLA and ask the provincial government what has happened to the $25.9 million cheque? (see medial release below from Public Interest Alberta). The government’s official response will be that they are creating spaces. But the provincial government’s space creation program is estimated to cost approximately $2 million, not $25.9 million. You do the math! Be persistent! Demand an answer! If we all do this, we may get the $25.9 million in the next provincial budget to create much needed child care spaces in Alberta.
