Meet Our Board

Churchill Park (CHP) Family Care Society has a dedicated and talented volunteer Board of Directors sharing a common vision and goal for CHP – to create a place like no other – a place where childcare providers partner with families and the larger community to ensure children are better ready for life. The following are your Board of Directors for 2016/2017:

Alice Bienia – Chair

Alice has over 30 years of Business, Management and IT consulting experience. Prior to retiring her consultancy business in 2014, Alice used her extensive experience in business strategy, business system design and reengineering, change leadership, and governance to help her clients turn ideas into game changing solutions and achieve exceptional outcomes. Alice has also held various leadership roles in the energy and IT industry, including Associate Director-Management Consulting for Fujitsu Consulting Energy Group and various management roles at Gulf Canada Resources in Exploration and Development, Finance, Strategic Planning, Audit and Technical Services.

Over her career, Alice has participated in and served on various committees and associations including the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, Alberta Institute of Internal Auditors, and Canadian Women in Science. Alice currently writes crime novels and is a member of Crime Writers of Canada and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta. When not writing, Alice can be found enjoying foreign flicks or exploring Calgary’s urban parks and pathways.

Christopher Primeau – Vice Chair

Christopher has spent his career working in the not for profit sector in a variety of organizations and roles. His leadership experience has included work with youth, addictions and anti-poverty initiatives in Calgary, as well as 7 years of international development work in China and Egypt. Christopher joined the Churchill Park board in January 2015 with a strong passion to support the outstanding work that CHP is doing in early childhood development. Presently, Christopher is the Director of Development at the Calgary Dream Centre where he works to increase the organizations capacity to help individuals in Calgary escape the cycle of homelessness and addiction. Christopher enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel, together they have travelled the world and are looking forward to welcoming their first child in January 2017.

Matthew Peterson – Treasurer

Matthew runs True North Accounting which specializes in bookkeeping, accounting and taxes for small business owners. Matt is honored to sit as Treasurer of the Board and finds the monthly board meetings energizing as they bring together so many knowledgeable and engaged people to debate strategy and make decisions.

Susan is the newest addition to the Board of Directors. She joined the Board in May of 2016. She holds a diploma and a degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in a variety of roles with children throughout her career, including 8 years with Churchill Park.
