Dear Churchill Park Stakeholder,

This letter announces the retirement of Sharon Reib as the Executive Director of Churchill Park Family Care Society, effective June 30, 2016.  During Sharon's 5 year leadership tenure, she passionately led  our strategic objectives to improve the access and quality of child care at Churchill Park. These efforts provide enrichment in the lives of children and their parents in the Calgary community, with our goal to ensure that children are better ready for life! Sharon and her team expanded the quality and variety of service offerings, and increased the strength or our revenue and operations.  Some recent highlights include the opening of Bright Lights Child Care, the expansion of existing programs such as summer camps, active participation in community initiatives and pilots such as the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework pilot, and a recent collaboration to Strengthen Families and Parent Resiliency.  Sharon's leadership has contributed to Churchill Park's reputation as a learning organization, and we sincerely appreciate Sharon's efforts, and we are grateful for her dedication and years of service.

It is my pleasure to announce our new CEO, Penny Gagnon, who commences her role on June 6, 2016 as Chief Executive Officer at Churchill Park.  Penny is a transformational and values based leader, with over 15 years of executive leadership specializing in non-profit organizations and team development fostering a culture of shared vision, ethical practice and integrity. Penny's leadership as Executive Director of the Child Development Centre Society of Fort St. John and District for the last 9 years has demonstrated skills to inspire commitment in others, project and management skills to lead significant change, and business skills to enable substantial financial and program growth and stability.

Penny and Sharon will work together for the month of June to ensure a smooth transition and support for all of Churchill Park programs. We wish Sharon the best in her retirement, and we look forward to introducing Penny to you upon her arrival.  We are excited and confident about the continued growth of services and community involvement at Churchill Park, and wish to thank you for your continued support and relationship.
